We have an opening for a Full Time (40 hrs a week) Youth Development Specialist (YDS) seasonal position in the Summer Around the World program. The YDS is responsible for planning, implementation, and maintenance of designated summer programs with a focus on the Second Step curriculum and youth mental health.
Desired Skills: Skills for working with youth as individuals and in group. Familiarity with Second Step curriculum, OST programming and child/youth mental health issues a plus. Reports to the Program Coordinator.
Responsibilities include: • Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordination of summer youth program • Teach Second Step curriculum with all groups grades 1st through 8th • Interact with youth in a positive, nurturing manner • Role model for youth and adults • Maintain and uphold cultural sensitivity • Maintain and uphold confidentiality requirements • Professionally represent Center as required • Maintain good communication with fellow employees, clients, volunteers, and community • Other duties as related to job as required.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate/Bachelor’s Degree in elementary education or PCSB license training preferred. Minimum of 3 years working experience with youth. Background check required.
